Experience is a currency you can’t buy

I believe that there exists a prevalent bias suggesting that individuals who are more advanced in their careers are less inclined to embrace new learning opportunities. In other terms, there is a perception that an older dog cannot learn newer tricks.

My experience is markedly different. I have observed that individuals who are advanced in their careers have achieved their success by evolving; they are not merely one-trick ponies. Successful individuals consistently engage in actions that drive their success forward in their careers.

This is the essence of growth; those who do not evolve inevitably fade into obscurity. Individuals who thrive and achieve lasting success possess an insatiable desire to learn. It is part of who they are, innovators, learners, or just curious by nature. Successful people actively seek innovative methods to excel in their roles and are always on the lookout for new opportunities to seize.

If your track record shows consistent growth, that’s a strong advantage. Why gamble on an unknown when you have a reliable closer? Those who are bypassing you might be missing out on the experience and insight that comes with experience.

What are you doing to keep growing?
